What’s That Sticker Thing?
When you visit a city, keep your eyes open. An art gallery usually is right next to you. Lamp posts, windows, post boxes or bus stops, often they carry thousands of unique, but rarely noticed artworks. Hand-drawn, printed, sprayed or stenciled stickers in all colors and formats. Some beautifully designed with love for detail, some just a scribbled name, but all of them have people behind them that want to leave a trace in this world.
Can I Get Some Stickers?
You sure can! Either by trading, if you have some stickers to spare, or you can donate to get a sticker-pack. You can contact Calmy Jane through the contact form or on Instagram.
Are There Rules?
There are no rules! But I do have some moral guidelines I follow, feel free to do so, too.
The first sticker I ever printed. I created this using GIMP and the Logo was created from a designer on Fiverr. I needed it for my first game, Walking the Wires. This soon got out of hand until it became the Imperium you admire today.
By far the most famous of them and a fun story behind it. This design was originally painted on a sign on the Spruuuuz Festival in Neuses. We were decorating for the festival and painting signs for toilets, bar and so on. At the end we didnt need any signs but still had boards and color, so we painted random ones. This one I painted with a friend of mine. Then after my first stickers I wanted to make one that’s more “artistic” than just text. So I looked through old photos if I find something to play with, found this and edited it in GIMP. The result is this famous sticker that rapidly spread in the sticker community and around my friends.
Though I’m proud of the publicity this sticker has raised, I’m not perfectly happy with it’s message. As mentioned before, I want to spread stickers that have a positive message, and still it’s the one that hates against people that get’s the most recogintion and attention.
Still I think there are worse groups of people to wish bad things to 😉

The original Image I created the Sticker from.
I wanted to spread positive messages with my stickers, an ACAB Sticker would have been easy, but I decided to design this beautiful Sticker. Fun Fact: I drew the hearts with a big Edding (Sharpie) on paper, took pictures and then increased the contrast and duplicated and scaled them.
My first drug related sticker. The “Seepferdchen” (Sea horse) is a patch for your swimming clothes that kids get for doing a swim test. “Schneepferchen” is a variation that means “Snow Horse”. This idea randomly came to my mind, and I recreated the original “Seepferdchen”-Logo from a picture, since I couldnt find a digital version online. Then I modified it slightly using simple paint functions in GIMP. I wouldnt consider myself a painter, and I’m still very proud of how the facial expression turned out.
Who could have known that this starts a series of drug related humorous content.
This rather tough one still is one I’m most proud of. It was drawn by my tattoo artist, but I sketched my Idea as you can see below. The background is quite serious. I live close to the Octoberfest in Munich and once a year this event demonstrates the risks of alcohol consumption like nothing else. Still alcohol is responsible for uncountable deaths and suffering in our society. This sticker should illustrate the irony of peoples perspectives to different drugs.

The hand drawn sketch I gave to my tattoo artist to paint the actual heroinfest sticker for me. Still love the mockup 😀
A good friend had a sweater with this sentence, just had to make a sticker from it. As you can see the style is still pretty simple, all generated in GIMP with no experience at all.
This fun slogan again is part of the idea to spread positive messages. I actually stole this from a graffiti near to my home where somebody sprayed “Fuck Cops” to a wall, and somebody else added the “but gently, and with condom” part. Loved it! <3
This one was in my mind for quite a while since I see it on a club toilet door. The joke was so great I wanted to make a sticker to spread it in many clubs. But I wasnt sure how to design it, so I made some pretty cheap designs I wasn’t happy with. One evening a friend came over and he suggested to just steal some clothing-shops corporate design and after a few bad jokes Balleria Draufhof was born.

One of my first designs for the sticker .. uah .. ugly 😀
After watching Der goldene Handschuh, I got interested in the history of this bar and the related murder case. When I visited Hamburg I randomly passed by the place and decided to have a beer inside. I got talking with the bartender and understood the black humor the image of this place is built on. Down in the toilet, I found the writing “Willy Honka” which is a combination of Willy Wonka and Fritz Honka just to hilarious to not make a sticker out of it.
During the pandemic I started getting into the YuGiOh card game, and played a lot of goat format online. That lead to the idea for YuGiOh themed sticker.
A Sticker I made in the honor of GG Allin, an entertainer from the 80s and early 90s. Loved the calendar saying combination 😉
This is the second GG Allin Sticker I made (that’s enough I think), I just loved the joke and it’s a tribute to @bobojugend, an artist from Berlin who does several stickers with DJ Bobo photoshopped on them.
